WHAT IS THE WAGE AND INVESTMENT (W&I) DIVISION? The Wage & Investment Division (W&I) serves about 122 million taxpayers who file upwards of 94 million returns each year. Key W&I objectives are to provide high-quality taxpayer assistance, and to enable taxpayers to transact and communicate electronically to file their returns, make payments and receive assistance. W&I partners with private organizations to provide assistance to such disadvantaged groups as elderly and low-income taxpayers. WHAT DOES A SUPPLY CLERK/TECHNICIAN DO? Supply Clerks manage the set-up and operation of classrooms and equipment in IRS Learning Centers; conduct inventories of training course materials, equipment and supplies. Supply clerks also stock and replenish supplies. They also maintain equipment.As a Supply Clerk you will:
perform technical supply work necessary to ensure the effective operations of ongoing facilities management activities and assist in effectively maintaining and inventory of supplies and equipment. order training materials, classroom supplies, and serve as resource to instructors on the setup and operation of equipment. serve as an official credit card holder in order to purchase supplies as needed and you will be required to maintain reports of purchases and remain in full compliance with all rules and regulations for government credit card holders. maintain a reporting/accounting system for equipment and supplies. serve as the Interactive Video Technology (IVT) coordinator. schedule classrooms using a specialized database. provide logistical support at IRS and Non-IRS locations. You must have 1 year of general experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-03 grade level in the Federal service. General experience for this position includes:
Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular competencies needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. This may be paid or non-paid experience. ORYou may substitute education for general experience as follows:
Two (2) years of education above the high school level (education may have been obtained in an accredited junior college, college, university, business, secretarial or technical school. ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions. - The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. - To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
